CELEBRATING WORLD VEGAN DAY
Each year vegans around the world celebrate World Vegan Day on the 1st November. This day, which was introduced in 1994 by Louise Wallis during her tenure as the Chair of The Vegan Society in the UK, has grown into a worldwide celebration of veganism. Encouraging people around the globe to embrace sustainable choices. The Vegan Society, originally established in November 1944, has been instrumental in using World Vegan Day as a platform to advocate for veganism as a conscientious and health-oriented way of life that has positive impacts on both the environment and human health.
The Mediterranean Diet, which is widely recognised for its health benefits, emphasises specific dietary guidelines that contribute to physical and mental wellbeing and longevity. This diet involves a daily consumption of fruit, vegetables, grains and olive oil. Along with regular consumption of fish and seafood, a moderate alcohol intake and the occasional consumption of red meat. It also places importance on food variety and the seasonality of products.
While the Mediterranean diet may not be entirely vegan, it includes a wealth of excellent plant-based foods that can be satisfying and nourishing for vegans. It’s considered one of the healthiest diets globally, encompassing the traditional eating habits of Mediterranean regions. This diet predominantly relies on plant-based foods and offers various well-rounded protein sources that compliment a vegan lifestyle.
At F ZEEN RETREATS we provide various vegan food options, smoothies and juices and are flexible in altering them to accommodate the preferences and requirements of our guests.
Keep an eye out for exciting new vegan dishes that will be introduced in the upcoming year!
